Pinterest Challenge: Anthropologie Inspired Nursery Art
So I saw this…
I knew I had to have it. But in Anthropologie style, it was 5 billion dollars.
So as I tried to decide if I should Google how to paper-mâché and try to make my own, I stumbled upon a glorious solution. Cue Michael’s, and their troves of weird holiday decor.
I happened to find a golden paper-mâché deer and I wasted no time putting down a quick coat of primer and spray-painting the antlers black.
And just as I was debating finding an old book and shredding it to pieces, this came in the mail.
Thank you, Trader Joes flyer, for sacrificing yourself for the good of my nursery.
Then I covered the deer in Modge Podge, laid down the newsprint at somewhat random, and continued on with the Modge Podge. And since I didn’t take a picture while it was drying, I’ll leave with this oddly sad picture of my Modge Podge’d decapitated deer. Weird.
But now he lives on! Gracing Norah’s wall with his presence.
He’s only a fraction of the size but to me, packs just as much punch. Especially since his larger counterpart is $68 bucks and he cost me only 5. (Since I had Modge Podge and spray paint on hand.)
Now I need more. Moar! Moar wall things! The last time I posted about the nursery there was significantly less things on the wall, pre-baby. And I have since add the ‘N’ over the crib after our little squish revealed herself to be a lady (seen here, in her birth story post.)
